Hard Reset
This guide explains how to perform a factory hard reset on a Cronus Zen. It walks users through unplugging the device, holding the P1 and P2 buttons, reconnecting through the rear CONSOLE/PC USB port, and confirming the reset with the LED sequence and OLED logo. This is useful for clearing bugs, glitches, or incorrect settings before setting the device up again.
Hard Reset Your Cronus Zen
A Hard Reset restores your Cronus Zen to factory settings — exactly like it just came out of the box. This can clear up bugs, glitches, or misconfigurations so you can set the device up again from a clean state.
This wipes your device
A hard reset returns everything to factory defaults.
You'll need to reconfigure your Cronus Zen (and reinstall any scripts) afterward, so only do this if you're troubleshooting a genuine problem.
How To Perform a Hard Reset
Follow these steps in order:
- Unplug everything from your Cronus Zen.
- Locate the P1 and P2 buttons — the blue buttons to the left and right of the OLED screen (highlighted in red in the picture below).
- Press and hold both P1 and P2 at the same time.
- While still holding them, plug the Zen into your PC or console using the rear CONSOLE/PC USB port.
- Keep holding both buttons for about 4 seconds.
- Release them after the LED flashes red, then green, then blue.
- Success — the alien head 👽 logo will appear on the OLED screen.
Timing is the key
The important part is holding both buttons before you plug in and keeping them held until you see the red → green → blue flash sequence.
If it doesn't work the first time, unplug and start over from Step 1.
